Let’s say you’re a stone-cold atheist.

Even if, the story in the “Garden of Eden,” of the Devil hidden in a serpent suit is still a compelling metaphor.

One that has its similarity in real life all too often.

Eve was a sweet person. Her husband her equal. Both hard working folks trusting that a just system was in place.

But a strong and caring voice of support took that all away.

Fast forward a few millennia or dozen.

History – through it all -is non-stop reporting of those that want to dominate and those that don’t want to be dominated.

People that have power against those that don’t have the means to stand alone against the powerful.

Those ancient gardeners back in Eden, were they given good employment advice by the Serpent?

Who wins in “Right To Work” scenarios?

When rights are actually taken away by a supportive voice.

Here is “advice” from a Right To Work organization https://leavemyunion.com. Urging people to get fantastic stuff because other people pay for it and they shouldn’t. Those “opting out” can sit back and still get those great benefits and better salaries:

Nonmembers do not pay any fees to the union. But you are guaranteed the benefits provided in the collective bargaining agreement.

That’s because decades ago, Illinois’ government worker unions lobbied for the exclusive right to represent all public workers – both members and nonmembers. And that means you retain all benefits provided in your collective bargaining agreement.

Examples may include the following:

Salary and raises
Health insurance
Pension
Vacation days, holidays
Overtime pay
Seniority
Leaves of absence (including sick leave)
Representation in a grievance

That sounds awesome. But the organization being reviewed here sure sounds like it is encouraging people to be free loaders.

On the other hand, nonmembers are not entitled to perks guaranteed to members through the union’s internal rules or membership agreement.

Isn’t that the same as any beneficial group? You can’t use AAA without a paid membership right?

Let’s see what the advice is from the leave group:

Examples may include:

Voting (on ratification of contract, strike authorization, etc.)
Holding union office or representing the union as a delegate to the convention
Utilizing union-negotiated discounts (for things such as additional life insurance, health clubs, tickets to events, etc.)
Maintaining any liability insurance the union provides, as opposed to insurance provided by the government employer
Receiving newsletters or other union publications
Attending special union events (such as meetings, picnics, Christmas parties, etc.

Who gives this kind of advice? It’s dripping with the venom of ulterior motive.

Eve knows.

And of course, it is still called “The SIN of Adam,” to this very day. So he really knows too.

Ask an Evangelical.

Getting duped by a nice sounding deal? What kind of right is that? Free speech? Free speech is gone when unions are dissolved. Once yours is gone at work, it’s back to “At Will” employment, Where you literally have no voice at work.

Go to Walmart and see for yourself. Or better yet, ask for yourself. Those employees are terrified to speak out against their bosses. I’ve asked Walmart employees on several occasions about their rights at work.

It’s dismal.

How is it (what “Leave My Union” touts . . .) not the same as encouraging someone to shop lift at say, some place like Walgreens because:

Hey, you have a Right to Medicine.

One’s a crime and one’s not?

Well, it only takes the whims of the Supreme Court to redefine laws huh?

Who is it that’s behind the face of Right To Work and Janus decision ethics?
Do their voices jive with morally sound advice?

Isn’t it really people that really want to control you?

Sound familiar?

C’mon now, it is not a $9.00 an hour Child Care Worker or State employee that runs Right To Work companies. Isn’t it really very powerful people hiding their real aims?

Can you ask Governor Rauner or Dan Proft for a raise?

A new style Feudal Lord whether a politician or radio personality is still a Feudal Lord.

Layoffs?

Without a Union, who is going to respect your seniority rights during layoffs? Seniority rights without a Union? Go search for that.

You’re fired?

Are Rauner and Proft going to give you Just Cause rights?

Both men, Rauner and Proft respectively, (and standard Right To Work zealots) make statements that Government Unions are problems for society. Is that really supportive of employees and their careers in those Government jobs?

Sounds like the other way around.

Does it really sound like they are just asking for people to make a choice?

A choice for whom?

Encouragement to make the wrong choice all the while saying it was a right to do so?

What was the Serpent’s goal in the Garden of Eden?

Mmm hmm.
